Florence County Council broke ground on the Baker Memorial Public Library in Timmonsville,
SC on May 16, 2008. The 6,500 square foot library will replace the old Timmonsville Library
and will be located at 298 W. Smith Street. The Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation donated $1
million for the construction of the new library branch. The library has been named after
the Baker family who owned the property and so generously donated the property to the County
for the construction of the new library.
