| Florence
County Emergency Medical Services is a department of
Florence County government, authorized by the Florence County
Council to provide emergency medical services to our county
residents and visitors. We provide full Advanced Life Support on
a 24 hour basis, operating seven ambulances and one quick
responder station, spread out across the county. Our main
efforts concentrate on the metropolitan areas of Florence and
Lake City, and the towns of Pamplico, Johnsonville, and Olanta.
The area ambulance provider rescue squads are backed up by FCEMS
at all times as needed. All ambulances are staffed with at least
one paramedic and EMT. Florence County EMS provides primary
patient care, stabilization, and transport to the hospital. We
do not provide routine transport or convalescent transport
services. All calls are received from Central Dispatch through
an Enhanced 911 system, utilizing priority dispatch. Click
