The Town of Olanta will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at
6:30 p.m. at the Olanta Town Hall located at 354 Magnolia Avenue.
As required by State Law, the Comprehensive Plan Land Use Element must be
updated every ten years. The future land use map for the Town of Olanta and the
surrounding area will be presented and discussed and at this public hearing.
A copy of this map is available for public viewing and comment at the Florence
County Planning & Building Inspections building located at 518 S. Irby Street or
online at www.florenceco.org/planning.
The Florence County Council will hold a public hearing on the Economic Element of the
Florence CountyComprehensive Plan recommended by the Florence County Planning Commission
adopted by such council pursuant to S.C. Code Section 6-29-530. The Comprehensive Plan is
required by the South Carolina Local Government Comprehensive Planning Enabling Act of
1994. This element is one of the seven required by the Act and is designed to provide
goals for local planning decisions.
The public hearings on the Economic Element are scheduled as follows:

All interested parties are invited to attend. Copies of the documents to be considered are available for
