The primary mission of Florence County Emergency Medical Services is to aid those who experience medical emergencies or traumatic injuries by providing rapid response, appropriate pre-hospital care, and safe, rapid transport to an appropriate hospital.

About Florence County EMS

Florence County Emergency Medical Services (FCEMS) is the primary provider of EMS to the residents and visitors of Florence County, South Carolina with a staff of ten advanced life support (ALS) ambulances available daily from six stations located throughout the county. There are seventy-four full-time employees and twelve part-time employees.

The Florence County EMS service area encompasses 800 square miles containing a population of approximately 140,000 people.

In 2013, FCEMS responded to more than 19,200 incidents.

All requests for EMS are routed to Florence County Central Dispatch via enhanced 911, prioritized, and dispatched to the appropriate EMS unit.
